Tim Weiner is the author of the award-winning The Looming Tower, a New York Times bestseller about the prelude to the September 11 attacks. An investigative reporter for The New York Times for more than thirty years, his previous books include Enemies, a history of J. Edgar Hoover's counterintelligence operations; Boundless Reckoning, which examined the financial crisis of 2008; and Legacy of Ashes, which included an investigative chapter on nuclear proliferation. The latter was adapted into a PBS documentary by Weiner and filmmaker Rick Goldsmith
